From the CEO's Desk: A Year of Giving Back and Growth
December 28, 20222022 was another year of growth and achievement for Metropolitan Realty Group (MRG). From new projects to charity partnerships, we took strides in the right direction. Let’s take a look at some of our biggest achievements this past year.
Park Lake Residences renovation
First up is the unveiling of the Park Lake Residences renovation. With brand-new flooring, paint, bathrooms, and appliances, this renovation modernized their spaces and improved residents' living conditions. Residents were moved from their apartments to temporary housing, arranged by the MRG team, while the renovations were being completed.
Improving the lives of our residents is the most significant part of our work here at MRG. In the past year, over 1000 affordable housing units in our portfolio have been renovated, and more are planned for 2023. These improvements allow our residents to be happier, safer, and more proud of the place they call home.
MRG believes that in order for communities to thrive, beyond feeling secure, there is also a need for educational assistance. Our charitable partnerships focused on educational assistance throughout the year helped us make a difference. We joined forces with the Dr. Richard Barnett Foundation and continue our partnership with Abba Leadership, International Sports and Music Project, Riverside Hawks, the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, UJA (and many different agencies affiliated with UJA Federation of New York). We are proud to be making a difference and providing these children with the education and resources they need for success.
In addition, we announced our expansion into Kansas with the acquisition of Willow Creek. This development will bring more affordable housing to the area, helping families find homes that fit their budget and needs. We are looking forward to the growth this project will bring.
Community Impact
We are always looking for ways to give back, and, in 2022, we were able to make a real difference and that's something we can all be proud of. Going forward, we look to continue this work and make an even bigger impact as our team and partnerships continue to grow and expand their reach. We are dedicated to making a difference in the world, and will continue to use every resource at our disposal to ensure that those in need receive the support they deserve. Moments like reading the letter from St. Mary’s High School are incredibly fulfilling and inspire us to go even further down this path.
Here at MRG, we are proud of the communities we impact, both those who live under our roofs and those who make up our internal employee culture. Metropolitan Realty Group is in the business of building and strengthening communities, so we take great care in cultivating a talented and diverse staff of dedicated professionals within our internal team.

In lieu of that spirit, our first MRG Employee Appreciation Event was also held. This was a great opportunity for employees to come together and learn more about our company and mission.
